Day 1 of Phuket Trip
I just got back from my trip! Not actually just, but last tuesday. Anyway I only got time to update the site today. The last few days was busy getting settle from the trip. Anyhow, below are the write up of my trip.
16/05/2009
Today is the first day of my Phuket trip to Rawai Muay Thai Camp for my Muay Thai Training. I woke up at 8.00am getting ready for my flight at 12.05pm. Me and my wife – Caroline – did some final check on our packing and we go get some breakfast and set out to Changi Airport. We check in and went straight to the boarding area. Board the flight and arrive at Phuket at around 1.00pm (Thai time). We took a cab and head straight to Rawai Muay Thai Camp.
We reached the camp about an hour later and check in to our “Deluxe Banglow” which will be our home for the whole of next week. We set ourselves in place, unpack and went to check ou the gym area. The place is not too bad, Trainer are nice and the other students are friendly. Most of them are getting ready for their afternoon session training and we went to the camp office to enquire for some infomation – like where to buy fresh fruits (fruits are a very important part of a diet for a everyone) and also some infomation on getting around. According to JoJo (person on duty) told us that taxi are cheap but it make more sense to rent a bike, especially is there is 2 of us. So we rented a bike for 150 baht a day wich is dirt cheap. The bike is a 125cc with an automatic gear box so it is very easy to handle and ride.
First stop, to the supermarket. We went to Tesco Louts – a local supermart – very cheap and we bought so fruits and dinner. We went back to our room at the camp, put down the stuffs and went to explore the island a little. We went to Karon beach first. The ride there is quite far so by the time we get there, it’s quite late. We walk around a little and decided to go for a Thai massage – a much needed massage before the training. The massage was so good that I fell asleep. After the massage, we both felt so sleepy so we think we should head back to our room and have our dinner and call it a day. Moreover we have alot to do tomorrow.
